Christian rehabs are a Christ centered treatment program set up to transform lives from the inside-out approach, healing the essential parts of an individual’s life in order to bring about freedom from addictions as well as receive wisdom, knowledge, understanding and truth through God's word and bring them into relationship with their Creator Jesus (John 1:3).
We live in a world that promotes alcohol, drugs, lust etc… and many other things that can lead us down a destructive path. The Bible teaches us about these pit-falls and how when applying the Bible, God's word into our lives and believe and call on the Lord we can have fruitful lives free from addictions and many other bondage's which destroy lives. Through prayer and seeking God and Bible study we begin to receive spiritual healing, which brings us healing mentally and physically with a degree of recovery in each area of our lives. Because the enemy of our soul seeks to distract us any way he can to get us off of God's purpose and plan for our lives.
Therefore until we put on the whole of God by putting Him first we leave our minds open for all types of deception that leads to fear, anxiety, depression and drug and alcohol dependency and attacks our faith. The battle starts with our thoughts and our perception of things therefore if we are focusing on the wrong things and not on Christ the truth we invite trouble into our lives. Scripture tells us that we are in a spiritual battle against evil forces that try to destroy us and are more powerful than us without God's help.
Only through Christ Jesus who shed his blood on Calvary for our sin can we be forgiven and receive the true blessing and be delivered from spiritual bondage (Romans 6:23). Although Christ wants you to have His peace and joy and freedom from addictions and idols we are also promised temptations and trials in this life but with His help we can archive victory through them all and they will strengthen us if we don't give up.
There are many different Christian programs out there to choose from. For example; some of the rehab centers offer a long-term Christian discipleship program ranging in length anywhere from six months to a year or longer. Long-term discipleship programs are often highly disciplined and intensive Bible based programs which achieve a very high success rate (proven study) ultimately because of Jesus. Also the longer a person stays in a Christian rehabilitation center the more they should develop and transform, therefore having a stronger chance of better recovery. Also these are held to a higher standard walking out the Bible throughout the entire program. This type of Christian program is generally cheaper in cost, because the rehab center is able to support itself through donations, and many of them have various businesses where the students of the program work to support the center which gives them a good work ethic as well as pays their way through the program; Such as landscaping or car washes etc... Some of these programs are free and others operate on a sliding fee scale depending on the financial ability of the person needing treatment, and friends and family members who are willing to help the individual and the Christian rehab.
Other Christian rehabs offer shorter-term programs ranging anywhere from one month on up to six months. The one-month programs or month by month Christian rehab centers are generally more expensive because they do not have work programs. Yet there are Christian rehab centers that offer low and no cost Christian programs that have two months on up to six month programs. There are Christian drug rehabs and discipleship programs throughout the United States. The shorter term rehabs which are 28 days or one-month may offer a Christian rehab track and/or mix a 12 step program also, as well as other types of treatment such as psychology and incorporate other secular techniques along with the 12 steps for those who want that. Some of these may offer detoxification and dual diagnosis where the program has a psychiatrist on staff to prescribe medication for individuals who suffer with mental health issues along with drug and alcohol addiction. However, many people have been healed of psychological disorders through Christ alone, without 12 steps or psychology and psychiatrists, which doesn't heal, but is only a temporary method of treating the problem. It's a matter of what or who you chose to put your your faith in. Not to mention the Lord Jesus has healed countless drug addicts, which goes without saying. Amen!
These types of shorter term Christian rehab programs are often able to take insurance (because they offer the clinical staff) such as Aetna, Cigna, United Health Care, Blue Cross and Blue Shield etc… to handle the cost of this type of program which are generally expensive ranging from $8000 on up to $30,000 per month. Also because many of the long term Christian discipleship programs will not accept students or patients who are on prescribed medications (it depends though, it’s a case by case basis) whereas the dual diagnosis Christian track will. Nevertheless TEEN CHALLENGE (EVEN FOR ADULTS) which is proven the most successful Christian long term program, now has some centers that will accept people who are on medications. Also there can be other conditions that may limit an individual for the type of program they can get into, such as a physical condition where they need to receive treatment from a doctor or hospital, because some programs are not equipped to handle these types of cases.
